Post War Career

He served with the 1st Battalion and landed in Normandy on "D" Day. He was reported as wounded on 21/11/1944, then 04/12/1944 and finally on 15/12/1944. There is some doubt as he was on casualty lists 1620 and 1630 which appear to have been deleted with the comment "Delete above entry not a battle Casualty".

Whilst in Ipswich, he was in charge of Sport at Crane's and formed the Old Grammarians Football Club and was a founder member of the Ipswich Greyhounds Cricket Club. he moved to Eastbourne in 1960.
