Post War Career
After joining the Territorial Army, he saw active service from 1939 to 1946. He served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in the Middle East, Italy and finally in the Army of Occupation in Austria.
He returned to the family firm of Phillips and Piper, Clothing Manufacturers, and became Chairman. He was President of the O.I. Club in 1974 He was a keen rotarian and supporter of Ipswich Town Football Club.
