Post War Career

In spite of being in a reserved occupation, he joined the RAF and trained in Canada and England and flew as a Navigator/Radio Operator in Beaufighters and Mosquitos. He served in the U.K. and Middle East.

He emigrated to Canada with B. F. Bailey (O.I. 1934 - 40) on an arranged scheme in 1947. He worked as a lumberjack and then managed a company handling building supplies in Edmonton Alberta. He went back to Vancouver to work for Welwood of Canada as Marketing Director. He eventually set up his own distribution company Ipcol (Ipswich/Colchester) which he continued to operate into his seventies. He loved fishing and golf being Captain of Capilano Golf Club in 1972.
