He was first reported as missing on 20/06/42 on casualty list 889 ( Archive reference WO417/47). and then on casualty list 923 on 08/09/42 (archive reference 417/49). He is then listed as a Prisoner of War in Italy at Camp No. 73 Fossoli of Carpi near Modena postal mark 3300 (archive reference 392/21). He then appears on casualty lists 923 on 08/05/45 and 1751 having been a Prisoner of War in German hands at Stalag 4a Hohenstein POW No. 229834.
